Karin’s design sensibility started at a very young age growing up in Brazil where she would spend summers in her grandfather’s garage experimenting with materials and tools. Lucky for her, he was an artist and carpenter in his free time and had no hesitation sharing his passion for his craft. When it came time for college, Karin went on to pursue a degree in product design.
With more than 10 years of experience designing products for interior design, Karin has successfully completed projects in many different cities of the United States and Brazil, where her career began. She believes that every project starts with a problem and the challenge is to design a solution that not only solves the problem, but also suits the client’s expectations and needs. Her attention to detail, along with her technical background, allow her to work collaboratively with interior designers and architects to design products to best fit the client’s needs. “I love making an impact in people’s lives and design is all about that.”
In addition to her degree in product design, Karin also has an MBA in marketing and international business. At Armazem, Karin is the Head of Business Development in Chicago, connecting the company with new projects and partners. In her free time, you might find her dining out or enjoying homemade meals with her partner and beloved Gepetto (her Scottie!).
